What October Surprise can we expect in American politics this year?
Will it be something like this – or something far more earthshaking?
That image alludes to the movie, the Hunt for Red October, which was a film about a hunt for a Soviet submarine.
Somehow, Trump supporters have morphed the phrase into meaning that Trump is on a mission to hunt down a lot of evil people, which Trump himself has given credence to by insisting he intends to “drain the swamp,” and instigate the death penalty for drug dealers and pedophiles who are child rapists – or child killers.
But Trump has yet to be elected (or reinstated) and it’s quite possible that he’ll be sentenced to jail on September 18.
We’ll have to wait and see about that.
For the moment, the fascinating issue is a couple of posts on Telegram that are forecasting some really big October Surprises.
But first, for the benefit of those born in 1980 or later……how did the phrase enter American politics?
The term, October Surprise, first entered the American political arena in 1980 when Ronald Reagan was challenging Jimmy Carter for the presidency.
Reagan’s team thought Carter might spring a surprise in October – just before election day in November – to try and convince voters that he was the better man for the job.
The issue was that 52 Americans had been held hostage in Iran for 14 months. Carter had been unable to secure their release – but if he could do that and announce it in October, he’d likely win the election.
He failed to do so, and Reagan won, and then, just by coincidence (NOT) just an hour after Reagan was sworn in, the hostages were released.
Reagan survived the ensuing scandal over how he had made that happen, but eventually he upset the Deep State of the time so much that they tried to kill him.
He survived, but thereafter could never fully do what he wanted to do for the American people.
What To Expect In October?
Before we get into it, a quick explanation about my editorial style.
To use a Joe Rogan phrase, it’s one way to “cover my ass” because the query mark indicates to readers that while the information is reported in good faith, in many cases I have not communicated with the author. But that’s the way it is these days. The information comes off the Internet – it has passed my personal “fitness test” which is a subjective assessment of quality, content, readability, and credibility. Also, I sometimes include appropriate images from my own archive, or find them on the Internet or Google Earth. Those who post on social media have a way of being very cryptic at times. They seem to write in breadcrumbs, leaving us to pause and figure things out. You might describe it as social media shorthand, packing a lot of information into very few words.
It can also (and in many cases should) serve as an impetus to do one’s own further research.

Why did Trump issue EO 13818 & 13848?
Trump won the election and our amazing military knows that (the clowns on TV are bought puppets).
He was impeached after he “lost” because the judicial and legislative branches knew he was still president and they had no control over the military with him having a position in govt. Note: you can only “impeach” people who hold a “position” in govt.!
